Our Core Beliefs: Foundations of Faith at Lifeway Church
Explore the Pillars of Our Faith and What Guides Us in Lifeway Church

At Lifeway Church, our beliefs are deeply rooted in the Word of God, which serves as our foundation outlining our doctrinal beliefs and practices. We hold these beliefs to be essential to our understanding of the Christian faith and central to our identity as a community of believers.

The Authority of Scripture

We believe in the authority and sufficiency of the Bible as the inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith, doctrine, and practice. Scripture serves as our guide for life and is the source of truth by which all other beliefs and teachings are evaluated.

The Trinity

We affirm our belief in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, yet distinct in role and function, working harmoniously in creation, redemption, and the life of the believer.

Salvation by Grace through Faith

We affirm salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again, securing our eternal redemption.

The Church

We affirm the importance of the local church as a community of believers, called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. The church is the body of Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit to proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and serve as a beacon of light in the world.

Baptism and the Lord's Supper

We affirm believer's baptism by immersion as a symbolic act of obedience and identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. We also observe the Lord's Supper as a memorial of Christ's sacrifice, proclaiming his death until he comes again.

Religious Liberty

We affirm the principle of religious liberty, which grants individuals the freedom to worship according to their conscience, without coercion or persecution. We advocate for the separation of church and state, recognizing the authority of both civil government and the church in their respective spheres.

The Return of Christ

We affirm the future return of Christ when he will judge the living and the dead and establish his kingdom in its fullness. We eagerly anticipate his coming and strive to live in readiness, faithfully serving him until he returns.

At Lifeway Church, these core beliefs guide and shape everything we do. We invite you to explore these truths with us and join us in living out our faith in love, unity, and service to God and others.
